If you sign up for CoSchedule with my link below, I’ll receive a discount on my subscription. It’s not for everyone – but if you’re wondering if it’s right for you, I’m happy to hop on email or call and walk you through how I use it.
Blogging often feels like juggling – content creation, email list development, social media presence, collaborations, and more. Planning and strategy too easily fall by the wayside in the rush to get it all done. CoSchedule powers bloggers to drop the busy work and get intentional with content strategy.
Whenever a discussion about tools comes up in a blogging group (and it happens daily), social media schedulers are a hot topic. There are SO MANY out there and all with cool features. Here’s the bottom line – there is no one magic answer. Switching to a new scheduler will not transform your blogging all by itself.
Working out the right work flow for your style and needs creates magic – more efficient, smoother flowing content creation and promotion.
How my traffic increased with CoSchedule
CoSchedule is frequently left out of conversations about social schedulers because that’s not really what it is. It does share your social content but it also manages it. CoSchedule is a super Editorial Calender. It builds campaigns for your blog posts (right in WordPress). It allows for some automation when you need to focus on other parts of your work. For a little more than $2/day, I have a virtual assistant that makes it easier for me to create, share and leverage my content.
Campaign your blog post
There was a time, when I started blogging, that I would write my blog post, hit publish and be done. I might share it with people by email or MySpace (yes, I’m that old and I was blogging before Facebook).
Now, my workflow includes images and posts for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and LinkedIn. It includes blog group share threads and email sequences. I’m writing blog posts in July that I’ll reference in August. And that’s led to an income producing, higher visibility website. It’s also more work, so I need the process to be efficient and productive.
With CoSchedule WordPress plug in, I can write and schedule the promotion for each post while I’m formatting in WordPress. For me, this happens when I’m uploading the images. I have a general promotion template for my post promotion:
- Publish date: FB & Twitter, Pinterest (on a BoardBooster loop, not CoSchedule)
- Day after publish: FB & Instagram
- 1 week after publish: FB, Twitter & LinkedIn
- 3 weeks after publish: FB & Twitter
- 4 weeks FB, Twitter & Linkedin onto a ReQueue list
An Automated Social Baseline
Social media scheduling can eat an incredible amount of time – curating valuable, nonrepetitive content, writing engaging social content that complements what you share and engaging on your pages and in your groups. It’s okay to not be able to do it at all.
There are times – when I’m launching a new product, when I need to step back and focus on my family, when I’m focusing on learning a new skill – when I need to free up some time or brain space. CoSchedule’s Requeue allows me to do just that.
With ReQueue, I can add my best performing social messages to a rotation that CoSchedule pulls from to fill in holes in my social posting based on limits that I have set. If something happens and I fall behind in maintaining my posting – ReQueue is there to keep a baseline level of engagement and presence. By creating a ReQueue group of my own blog posts, I can ensure that I’m making the most of the content that I’ve already created. I need to create less new content when I’m making my published posts keep working!
The reality is that life happens – and I can’t let all of my hard work go to waste. CoSchedule plays the role of back up.
Which social media scheduler is right for you?
There is no single right answer. I recommend asking yourself one simple question – which activity makes you the most progress towards your BIG goal? CoSchedule allows me to streamline my workflow – keeping each stage of creating, promoting and automating my content creation in on system. This helps me to stay on task, in my workflow. The automation tools free up more time to focus on income producing activities like affiliate marketing and brand relationships.
